Built in the mid 1920s for a variety of railroads, this version is an
example of the Osgood Bradley commuter coaches as done for the Boston
and Albany. The prototype coaches were built between 1925 - 1927 with some small variations, but saw
service with a number of owners, both original and second hand.
The B&A cars were numbered 300-379, which were renumbered to NYC 1100-1179, and further assigned Penn Central 1383-1398 but it is unknown if any were actually renumbered.
The NYC Harlem Division cars were numbered NYC 2400-2428 and renumbered to 3700-3728.
There are minor differences between the B&A and NYC cars but both can be modeled with the kit.
To complete the kit you’ll need diaphragms (if modeling
non-B&A variants that had them), window glazing (suggest
microscope slide covers) and wire for the underframe brake piping and
grab irons. This kit also has doors for the vestibules in place of the gates. Both are designed as static components. Kit does not include couplers and wheels. Kadee couplers and wheels are added options.
