challenges with full service streamlined trains with all the trimmings. This book traces NYC’s premier services,
train by train, through the 1950’s and 60’s.
As time progressed, the Central’s attitude toward passenger services reversed,
and the 60’s saw services cut-back and consolidated.
Photos include a few steam locomotives, many lightning-striped
E-units and a few of the later white-striped E-units. Also… many photographs of observation cars. The equipment was clean and the trains were
